> Photography Tips: The golden hour for photography is between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM; colors appear most saturated just after the rain has cleared. Using a polarizing filter can help reduce glare and enhance color saturation. Viewing Platform No. 4 is the prime spot for sunset viewing; it is recommended to arrive and secure your position at least one hour in advance.

The coloration of the colorful hills is determined by the sedimentary environment that existed at the time of their formation. When the rock strata contain a high concentration of Fe³⁺ (ferric iron), the dominant hues are purplish-red and brick-red; conversely, when Fe²⁺ (ferrous iron) levels are elevated, the colors manifest as grayish-green, yellowish-gray, bluish-gray—or even black and white.
