Morning: First Bend of Yangtze River
Depart early from Shangri-La for the 1.5-hour drive to this iconic geographic wonder. Witness where the Jinsha River (Yangtze's upper reaches) makes a dramatic 120° turn, creating a stunning horseshoe-shaped vista. Climb the observation deck for panoramic views of terraced fields and snow-capped mountains. Stop at a local café for yak butter tea and tsampa to fuel up.

Afternoon: Tiger Leaping Gorge
Continue 1-hour to the gorge’s Upper Section. Walk the paved paths along China’s deepest canyon, where the roaring Yangtze squeezes through 30m-wide cliffs. Ganden Sumtseling Monastery - Pudacuo National Park
4-Stars Hotel
Breakfast
Morning: Visit Ganden Sumtseling Monastery – Yunnan’s largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery, hailed as the "Little Potala Palace." It masterfully blends Tibetan and Han architectural styles. From the 5th day of the 5th Tibetan lunar month, the three-day Horse Racing Festival (or "Heavenly Horse Festival") transforms Shangri-La. Beyond thrilling races, the event features traditional song-dance performances and local cuisine. Horse traders clad in finest furs or silks gather here, while families camp in tents on the festival meadow.
Afternoon: Explore Pudacuo National Park – China’s first national park on the mainland. Its Tibetan name means "the ferry that delivers all beings from suffering to the shore of liberation." The park preserves an intact composite ecosystem: alpine lakes, primeval forests, plateau wetlands, and Tibetan cultural heritage.

Canton Tower - Nan Yue Wang Museum - Shamian Island - Pearl River Night Cruise
4-Stars Hotel
Breakfast
After breakfast, our journey takes us to the Canton Tower. This second tallest TV tower in the world is not only the landmark of Guangzhou, but also the best place to see the night view of Yangcheng. Taking the high-speed elevator straight to the top sightseeing floor of the tower, you can have a 360-degree view of the whole Guangzhou city without any dead angle. When the sunshine sprinkles the earth, the cityscape of Guangzhou becomes more charming, with the Pearl River New City and the architectural complex around the Canton Tower as far as the eye can see.
Afterwards, we head to the Nan Yue Wang Museum. This museum not only displays the history, culture and archaeological discoveries of the Nan Yue Kingdom, but also makes history “come alive” through high-tech means, allowing you to more intuitively understand the historical changes of Guangzhou and even the Lingnan region.
In the afternoon, we will go to Shamian Island, which is a unique place in Guangzhou. The island is covered with green trees and European-style buildings, as if you were in a foreign country. Here, you can leisurely stroll along the island's paths and admire the buildings that have survived the weather, or take a break at one of the island's cafes or restaurants to enjoy a quiet and cozy time. If this itinerary doesn't meet your expectations, contact intotravelchina for more customized travel experiences.
In the evening, we will take the Pearl River Night Cruise to see illuminated landmarks like Liede Bridge and Star Concert Hall.
