After breakfast, we will head out to the Tulou region, known for its unique earthen buildings. The Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster, a beautiful scenic area with well-preserved structures, will be our first stop. These massive round buildings, used by Hakka families for centuries, offer a glimpse into traditional Hakka life. The site is surrounded by lush green hills, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.
We will then proceed to Yuchang Building, a historical Tulou known for its architectural design and historical significance. This Tulou is an example of how ancient construction techniques and communal living come together in a harmonious setting.
Next, we will visit Taxia Village, where you can explore traditional Hakka-style courtyards and experience life in a rural community. Learn about the culture and customs that have been passed down through generations.
In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Hakka lunch, featuring local dishes such as Hakka stuffed tofu and meat dishes cooked with preserved vegetables. After the meal, we’ll head back to Xiamen.
Evening Option:
For the evening, you can explore Xiamen's bustling Zhongshan Road, a vibrant pedestrian street famous for local snacks, shopping, and souvenirs. You can also stop by a local café to unwind and enjoy some traditional tea. This is a perfect way to relax and soak up the local atmosphere.
