Natural Creation - Embracing the Picture of Cang'er Lake
As the pearl of Erhai Lake, the island itself is an excellent viewing platform, taking a panoramic view of the essence of Cangshan and Erhai Lake.
Green Waves Around the Island: The Thousand Faces of Erhai Lake
The island is surrounded by water on all sides, and the view of Erhai Lake varies from different directions. The view from the east is broad, offering a distant view of Jizu Mountain; Facing Shuanglang Ancient Town and the Nineteen Peaks of Cangshan to the west, it is one of the best angles to capture the classic scene of "Cangshan as a screen, Erhai Lake as a mirror". The the Taihu Lake Lake stone communities and fine white sand beaches along the coast add beauty and flexibility to the robust landscape paintings, making people feel as if they are at the seaside.
Green on the Island: Concentrated Garden Art
Although the area is not large, the island has been carefully greened and the scenery has changed step by step. The banyan trees, bamboo, triangular plum and other plants scattered throughout complement the unique pavilions and towers of the Bai ethnic group. Especially in spring, flowers bloom on the island, colorful and vibrant, forming a sharp contrast with the blue lake water, full of vitality.
Light and Shadow Magic: A Stage for Sunrise and Sunset
Due to being surrounded by water on all sides, watching sunrise and sunset on the island is not restricted by direction. In the morning, the eastern glow dyed Erhai Lake golden red; In the evening, the sunset glow behind Cangshan dyed the entire western sky and lake surface a warm orange purple. Light and shadow flow on the lake, buildings, and sculptures, presenting different beauty in every moment.
Humanistic Craftsmanship - The Solidified Epic of Nanzhao
The cultural landscape on the island is its soul, vividly presenting the vast history and culture of Nanzhao through concrete art forms.
Nanzhao Palace - a symbol of royal power
The core buildings on the island, although reconstructed in modern times, adopt the typical architectural style of Nanzhao Palace, towering and majestic. Internally, through murals, displays, and other means, the historical context, political system, military achievements, and relationship with the Tang Dynasty of Nanzhao Kingdom are briefly presented, providing a vivid classroom for quickly understanding the history of Nanzhao.
Sha Yi Mu Group Carvings - Mythology of Creation
The large-scale sculpture group created based on the "Nine Dragons Myth" in the "Biographies of Southwest Barbarians" in the Book of Later Han is a landmark landscape on the island. The sculpture tells the mythological story of the origin of the Bai ethnic group's ancestors. The images of Sha Yimu and her ten sons (dragon sons) are vivid, full of primitive vitality and mysterious colors, and are the visual core of the Bai ethnic group's main culture and national identity.
Yunnan Fuxing Square - The Guardian of Aya Guanyin
In the center of the square stands a tall White Marble statue of Avalokitesvara, whose shape originates from the unique "Akoya Avalokitesvara" in the Nanzhao and Dali dynasties. This Guanyin statue has a slender waist and loose feet, with a unique style. It is a product of the fusion of Buddhist Esoteric Buddhism and local beliefs, and is known as the "Lucky Star of Yunnan", guarding the peace and prosperity of this region.
Our main cultural square and fishermen's folk customs
The square showcases the unique "worship of the main deity" culture of the Bai ethnic group. There are also scenic spots on the island that showcase the traditional fishing life of the Bai ethnic group, such as fishing boats and nets, which give people a strong sense of life and complement the grand historical narrative with warmth.
